Working in Film and Television for over 30 years, Adam Trotman has a breadth of experience editing a wide range of genres from gritty dramas such as AMC’S “Gangs of London” to heart-warming classics such CBS’s “All Creatures Great and Small”. Winning the RTS Craft & Design Award for Best Editing in 2019 after his work on BBC’s “Come Home”, Adam continues to grow and develop his passion for filmmaking in the ever-expanding industry.

After honing his craft on the film and television course at Newport Film School in 1989, Adam dived straight into the fast-paced environment of BBC Pebble Mill in Birmingham as he began working as a 1st Assistant Editor on award winning dramas such as ‘Martin Chuzzlewit’, and the highly acclaimed ‘Top Gear’.

In 2003 Adam set up Nvous Films Limited, establishing himself as a capable and creative freelance editor as he undertook a broad variety of projects including, but not limited to, “Kidnap and Ransom” for ITV, “Strike Back” for HBO, and more recently the fifth season of “The Last Kingdom” that remained in the top 10 on Netflix for many weeks. Outside of television, Adam edited the gripping horror film “The Crucifixion” for Lionsgate Entertainment, and has worked on several independent UK films such as “Trick or Treat” for Evolutionary Films, and “Monochrome” for Electric Flix.

Adam immerses himself in every aspect of filmmaking, directing many 2nd Unit segments for several of the projects he has edited including the generationally loved BBC’s  “Dr Who”, ITV’s “Unforgotten”, and HBO’s “Strike Back” that saw him take on the challenge of high intensity, action heavy sequences.

 

He also pursues his own personal interests in all facets of cinema; regularly expanding his working knowledge of 3D Animation, Texture designing, YouTube motion graphic creation, tailoring digital clothing for avatars, and low-budget CGI production.

Adam is proficient  at using  all main NLE's including  AVID, FCP, Resolve, Fusion and Premier Pro. I can create Motion Graphics and CGI using software like After Effects, 3D Element, Photoshop and Blender to name but a few.
